Landscapes

Landscapes are where I first began my oil painting journey and capturing the shifting nuances of light and colour with expressive brushstrokes is my continual motivation and passion. I am mainly a studio painter but like to experience my subjects first-hand and capture with either a quick sketch or at least take a photo myself before bringing to my easel. I have complete admiration for the en plein air tradition and will always seek opportunities to mix refinement in the studio with real life outdoors. My influences include contemporary masters such as Hester Berry, Mitchell Albala, Alexei Lantsev and Aimee Erickson.
